Liberty-Eylau tops Marshall

TEXARKANA, Texas - Liberty-Eylau's varsity volleyball team defeated Marshall at the Rader Dome in four sets, 27-25, 25-18, 25-27, 25-21, on Friday.

Daycoria Meadows led the Lady Leopards with 15 kills.

Tamara Norris finished with eight kills for L-E, and teammate Kirsten Stuard ended with 16 digs.

The Leopards (5-2) are back in action today in the Redwater Spikers' tournament.

 

Lady Tigers fall to Paris

PARIS, Texas-Texas High's varsity volleyball squad fell to Paris at Wildcat Gym, 26-24, 25-18, 25-14.

Ashlyn Stiger led the Lady Tigers with nine kills and 10 service points, while teammate Bella Cherry added 12 assists.

Texas High went 1-2 on the first day of the Willis Point Tournament on Aug. 15.

THS fell to Quitman, 25-21, 20-25, 25-21.

Olivia Lower led the Tigers with 10 kills, and teammate Logan Pilgreen added 13 assists with 12 digs.

Texas High lost to Commerce, 25-23, 20-25, 25-9.

Lower had 12 kills for the Tigers and teammate Ashanti Northcross added 21 digs.

Pilgreen finished with 10 assists and eight digs for THS.

The Tigers beat Kerens, 25-9, 25-23.

Valeria Perez led the THS with 11 digs.

 

Lady Lions edge Pleasant Grove

NEW BOSTON, Texas - Maggie Taylor slapped in 15 service points to lead New Boston to a 22-25, 25-53, 16-25, 25-15, 15-10 victory over Pleasant Grove at Lion Gym.

Lauren Hurst put down 11 kills, Carleigh Reeves had eight kills, and Tamiya Smith recorded seven kills for the Lady Lions. Carlee Ratcliff had 25 digs, and teammate Grace Duffer made 26 assists for NB.

Adi Koller served in a match-high 19 service points for the Lady Hawks.

Jazz Moses fired in 21 service points to lead Pleasant Grove's junior varsity A to a 25-11, 25-8 win.

Megan Daniel led the Lions with four service points.

Molly Black paced the Hawks' junior varsity B with 16 service points as PG won, 25-15, 25-9.

Kayahna Harrison had three service points for New Boston.

The Lions play at Hughes Springs at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday.
