LINDEN, Texas - Familiar foes get the season rolling today at Jack Hetherington Tiger Stadium.
Hooks clashes with Linden-Kildare in each team's season opener at 7:30 p.m.
Last year, the Tigers defeated the Hornets, 40-26, at Hornet Stadium. Hooks will look to avenge the loss.
The Hornets are guided by head coach Chris Birdwell, and Linden-Kildare's coach is Derek Simmons. Birdwell is in his fifth year at Hooks, and Simmons begins his fourth.
Last year, Hooks went 4-6, and the Tigers were 6-4.
It will be a battle of experience as Linden-Kildare returns eight starters on offense and six on defense. The Hornets return seven offensive starters and four defensive.
