Hawks' play runs Pirates aground

PITTSBURG, Texas-Dre Robinson could not be stopped as he scored 18 points, and Pleasant Grove rolled past Pittsburg, 59-46, in a District 15-4A basketball game on Friday.

Kam Woods contributed 11 points for the Hawks.

 

Redwater 67, New Boston 58

REDWATER, Texas-Redwater ran its District 14-3A record to 3-1 with a 67-58 victory over visiting New Boston Friday night.

The Dragons (12-11 overall) had three double-figure scorers in Parker Gravitt (24 points), Gabe Menah (20) and Mason Robertson (11). Robertson hit on three 3-pointers.

New Boston (1-3 district) was paced by Jamin Powell with 25 points and Bishop Fields with 15.

Redwater also won the junior varsity game, 36-17, with Kaden Bowen scoring eight for the victors and Ian Cross tallying seven for the losers.

The Dragons' next district game will be at home Tuesday against Paul Pewitt.

HUGHES SPRINGS, Texas-Hughes Springs jumped out to a 39-23 halftime lead and rode the 1-2 punch of Chandler King and Devin Flournoy to defeat Waskom, 73-40, in District 15-3A action Friday.

King popped in 22 points and Flournoy added 20 to lead the Mustangs (10-12, 2-6). Cameron Johns also had 10 points for the victors.

Waskom was paced by 6-3 senior Lamontre Stephens with 16 markers.

Hughes Springs' next district game is at home Tuesday against Ore City.

Neo Scales swished in 17 points, and teammate Michael Moore added 13 for the Blue Tigers.

Casey Smith had a team-high 19 points for the Longhorns, and teammate Blake Williams contributed 12.

Hunter Allen swished in 17 points, and teammate Daimion Collins added 13 for Atlanta.

DeKalb was led by Alex Clark's 13 points, while Logan Corbett contributed 10 for the Bears.

Lady Backs fall to Yellowjackets

SHERIDAN, Ark.-Cedrianna Daniels had a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds, but Arkansas High was defeated by Sheridan, 60-37.

Kiara Young had 12 points and six rebounds for the Lady Backs.

Arkansas High takes on El Dorado at Razorback Gym on Tuesday at 5 p.m.

 

Atlanta 71, DeKalb 38

DeKALB, Texas-Keyona Easter was a basketball beast as she scored 30 points for the Lady Rabbs en route to a 33-point win over the Lady Bears.

Sheveonia Smith added 18 points for Atlanta.

Bracee Proctor paced DeKalb with 10 points.
