Curley Wolves end conference at perfect 7-0

AMITY, Ark. - Prescott rolled up over 500 yards of total offense during a 62-34 win over Centerpoint Thursday to finish its 5-3A conference run with a 7-0 record.

The Curley Wolves (8-2 overall) got touchdowns from five different players.

Alex George started the scoring on a 37-yard run and he finished with three TDs and 87 yards on just five rushes. George also had scoring runs of 12 and 27 yards.

Jacobi Nolen accounted for three scores, running for 86 yards and a pair of TDs on 18 carries and completing 2 of 4 passes for 43 yards and a 40-yard strike to Jacaylon Zachary.

Jaylon Hopson rushed 11 times for 141 yards, including an 18-yard touchdown, and Derriun Thompson had scoring runs of 7 and 53 yards and finished with 13 totes for 137 yards.

Prescott finished with 50 rushes for 481 yards.

 

Dragons bound for playoffs

GENOA, Ark. - Genoa Central did something it had never done before.

The Dragons (5-5, 3-4) defeated Bismarck (3-7, 1-6), 28-21, to earn their first playoff berth in school history.

Five wins (for a season) marks a school record for Genoa Central, which started the football program in 2010.

Dalton Savell rushed for 146 yards on 17 totes and a touchdown for the Dragons. Ryan Braden totaled 106 yards on 22 carries and a score.

Drew Mason threw a 61-yard pass to Connor Reed and broke loose on a 43-yard TD scamper for Genoa Central, who plays in Conference 5-3A.

 

Horatio falls to Fouke

FOUKE, Ark. - Hunter Lansdell tossed three touchdowns in Fouke's victory over Horatio at Panther Stadium, 35-7.

Lansdell connected with Nicholas Cowart for touchdowns, twice, on passes of 11 and 21 yards.

Lansdell also hurled a 33-yard touchdown to Seth Phillips. Phillips intercepted a Lions pass for a Fouke score.

Tyler Lawrence also scored for the Panthers on a 20-yard run.

The Fouke defense forced two safeties on the Horatio offense during the game.

Landon Rowe caught a 18-yard pass from Lane Moya for a Lions' touchdown during the contest.

 

Basketball

Red Lick, Harts Bluff split

RED LICK, Texas - Caleb Hackleman's 13 points helped lead Red Lick's eighth grade boys squad over Harts Bluff Thursday in its basketball game, 41-25.

Harts Bluff defeated the Mustangs in the seventh grade game, 41-15.

Tanner James led the Mustangs with six points.
