Lady Dragons sweep past Paul Pewitt in three sets

REDWATER, Texas - Ally Walston smacked in 19 service points, and Redwater swept Paul Pewitt, 25-10, 25-19, 25-20, in a varsity volleyball match on Tuesday.

Bella Fernandez put down 12 kills, and teammate Ashton Holland had 20 assists for the Lady Dragons (25-8, 5-2). Walston and Kyndal Missildine each had eight digs.

Hannah McGee paced the Lady Brahmas with six service points. Calli Osmon and Destiny Jones combined for ten kills and five blocks.

Kailyn Jones made 10 assists and had three kills for Pewitt, and teammate Jacie Crocker had five assists. Brooke Traylor had a pair of kills and three blocks for the Brahmas.

Abi Morrow had 11 service points to lead Redwater's junior varsity to a 25-5, 25-8 sweep over Paul Pewitt.

 

Lady Bulldogs win
in crazy comeback

AVERY, Texas - Carley Westbrook slapped in 22 points as Avery came from behind to beat Sulphur Bluff, 19-25, 23-25, 25-20, 25-15, 15-7, in a District 17-2A volleyball match on Tuesday.

Emily Lamon had a team-high 19 kills for the Lady Bulldogs, Taylor Williams put down 14 kills, and Brianna Bridges had 16 assists. Avery is 6-0 in district play.

 

Lady Tigers fall to Lady Eagles

LINDALE, Texas - Olivia Lower had 10 service points and 14 kills, but Texas High was swept by Lindale, 25-6, 25-19, 25-22, in varsity action.

Logan Pilgreen had 13 assists and 10 service points, while teammate Valeria Perez made 11 digs for the Lady Tigers.

Carrigan Brush and Alex Reed each had seven service points, but the THS junior varsity were swept by the Lady Eagles, 25-12, 25-23.

Kadyn Avard served in nine points for the Tigers' ninth grade, but Lindale won, 25-5, 23-25, 25-18.

 

Lady Pirates earn win in 4 sets

MAUD, Texas - Kloe Walker fired in 24 service points as James Bowie defeated Maud, 25-7, 25-12, 23-25, 25-17, in a varsity
volleyball match.

Katie Jo Vaughn put down 16 kills, Emily Latham had 12 assists, and Walker made 11 digs for the Lady Pirates.

The Lady Cardinals were led by Lanie Lee's 11 service points, and teammate Alivia Carroll had six kills and eight blocks.

Madison Martin and Emily Maroul each had eight service points, and James Bowie swept Maud in the junior varsity contest, 25-20, 25-15.

Jordan Crowell served in eight points for the Cardinals.

 

North Heights JH
earns four wins

TEXARKANA, Ark. - Mckenzie Smith slapped in 15 service points, including three aces, as North Heights' eighth grade A squad swept El Dorado, 25-10, 25-20.

Chrinasia Solomon had five points, and the Lady Backs won the eighth grade B match, 25-14.

Kendra Jones had the hot hand as she fired in 23 service points, including four aces, to power North Heights' seventh grade A team to a 25-6, 25-12 victory. The Lady Backs' seventh grade A squad finished the season at 12-4.

Chasia Petterson had nine service points with three aces as North Heights earned its fourth win in the seventh grade B match, 25-11.

 

Hooks sweeps Queen City

HOOKS, Texas - Lexi Frachiseur's 16 kills and 11 blocks helped lead Hooks over Queen City in three straight sets, 25-16, 27-25, 25-22.

Alyssa Whitten finished with 12 digs and 12 assists for the Lady Hornets, while teammates Abby Russ and Alley Jefferson, each poured in 14 digs apiece.

Eva Johnson ended with five digs, seven points and 11 assists for Hooks and teammate Emma Farquhar added eight kills, five digs and 11 service points.

Chyna Stiger led Queen City with nine points and teammate Claire Bates added six points.

Hooks won the first junior varsity match with Queen City, 25-23, 25-18.

Kaclyn Nelson led the Hornets with eight points and teammate Tiera Sanders swatted six points.

Hooks defeated Queen City in the second junior varsity match, 17-25, 25-21, 26-24.

Nelson led the Hornets with 11 points and teammate Jordan Ragland chipped in 11 points.

Aubrey Kiser led QC with 12 points and teammate Clayton Simm slammed eight points.

Five Arkansas High
tennis players earn state bid

HOT SPRINGS, Ark. - Taylor McCoy and Daylon Floyd defeated El Dorado, 6-0, 6-0, in boys doubles to advance to the Class 5A state tournament.

Brayson Ivey and Keshaun Cornelius outlasted Hot Springs in three sets in boys doubles and earned a spot in the state tournament.

Singles player Nate Price punched his ticket to the big tournament with a 6-0, 6-1 victory over El Dorado.

The Hogs continue play in the 5A-South conference tournament at Lakeside High School today in their semifinal matches.
