TEXARKANA, Texas — Texas High pulled even at two sets apiece before New Boston won two more close games to post the varsity volleyball win Friday night inside the Tiger Center.

The Lady Lions won 25-16, 21-25, 25-22, 25-22.

The Lady Tigers were led by Ashlyn Stiger with 18 service points; 10 kills and nine blocks, Bella Cherry had 21 points, 17 assists and 14 digs; Olivia Lower 14 kills, 16 digs and 11 points; Ashanti Northcross 18 digs and 11 points.

The Lions (13-4) were led by Maggie Taylor with 17 points and nine digs; Grace Duffer had 22 assists; Carleigh Reeves seven kills; Carlee Ratcliff 19 digs and six kills; and Tamiya Smith six kills.

Texas High will entertain Pleasant City on Tuesday and New Boston opens district play next Friday at home against DeKalb.

 

Lady Hawks fall on road

CARTHAGE, Texas — Pleasant Grove went on the road and dropped a three-set match to Carthage.

The host Lady Bulldogs won 25-16, 25-22, 25-11.

 

Hooks beats Ashdown

HOOKS, Texas — Hooks won a pair of close sets in downing Ashdown 2-0 in the best-of-3 match.

The Lady Hornets won 25-22, 25-23.

Hooks' leaders were: Alley Jefferson (10 digs and four service points); Emma Farquhar (six points, six digs and five kills); Lexie Frachuseur (11 kills); Abby Russ (10 digs, five kills and three points); Alyssa Whiten (10 assists, eight digs and four kills); Eva Kathryn (14 assists, eight points, five digs).

Ashdown was led by Vonee Thomas with seven points and Jukarra Green five points.

 

Lady Rabbs lose in three

ATLANTA, Texas — Marshall swept host Atlanta in a non-conference varsity match.

The Lady Mavericks won, 25-20, 25-23, 25-19.

 

Lady Cardinals triumph

MAUD, Texas — Maud won in straight sets against Linden-Kildare. The Lady Cardinals won 25-12, 25-22, 25-22.

Maud was paced by Haley Yates with 17 service points, 13 assists and eight digs; Brynn Sultz had 10 kills and two blocks; and Jadyn Sanders 12 digs and eight points.

Malia Hinojosa served 11 points for Linden-Kildare.
