Genoa Central triumphs, 36-0

TEXARKANA, Ark. - Genoa Central quarterback Drew Mason scored three touchdowns and a pair of runners topped the century yard rushing mark as the Dragons blanked Lafayette County, 36-0, Friday night

Genoa Central (1-1) jumped out to a 16-0 first-quarter lead and expanded it to 29-0 by halftime.

Mason scored on runs of 14, 10 and 15 yards, all in the first half.

The Dragons' ground assault was powered by Dalton Savell with 122 yards on 14 carries and Ryan Braden added 106 yards on 17 totes. Braden had a 1-yard scoring plunge and added a 2-point conversion run. Ethan Cowart also scored on a 2-yard touchdown run and Carlos Castendea a pair of extra points.

Genoa Central amassed 335 yards total offense, averaging 6.1 yards per play. Lafayette County (0-3) was limited to 89 yards total offense.
