COACH GERRY STANFORD'S COMMENTS: "We really felt good, defensively, about our effort as a whole. The hard part about defense is by my estimation it was basically two plays that equaled 14 points. That's the way football is to some degree, but holistically we played well. Especially our secondary, because we knew that they were going to be tested this last week. Really felt good about how they handled the pressure and being back there, knowing that on any play they could be tested. They played without the fear of failure; they played with the expectation that they were going to get it done.

"Offensively, we're getting in a pretty good rhythm. There's still thing we still need to continue to improve on, but the consistency of being able to get first downs and move the ball we looked comfortable with against Kilgore. With the exception of one turnover, we played a pretty complete game on offense, and what we were really proud of was when it got close in the fourth quarter, we responded. We didn't get frustrated, didn't make mistakes, we just went back out, drove a pretty good length of the field and punched it in to keep it a 2-possession game. I was probably the most proud of their play at that point, as a whole."
