Leopards off to good start in Tyler game

TYLER, Texas-Keeley Norris scored a team-high 16 points to lead Liberty-Eylau's varsity girls to a 72-56 victory over All Saints on Saturday.

Skylier Bailey contributed 13 points, and Kayla Norris scored 12, including a pair of 3's, for the Lady Leopards (1-0).

Lauren Datwyler led all scorers with 26 points for the Lady Trojans.

Liberty-Eylau hosts Marshall at 5 p.m. on Tuesday.

Lady Backs post victory

EL DORADO, Ark.-Jamiya Montgomery scored 13 points to lead Arkansas High's freshmen to a 26-21 win over Pine Bluff in the El Dorado basketball tournament.

Redwater's 7th and 8th place second

REDWATER, Texas-Redwater's seventh and eighth grade girls each placed second in the Redwater Junior High basketball tournament.

Avery Waldrop shot in six points, and Isabel Turner had five points in the Lady Dragons' 22-20 loss to Clarksville in the eighth grade championship game.

Redwater's Karley Latham scored six points, while teammate Landy Canto added five in a 30-18 loss for the seventh grade in the championship game.
