David Holmes takes his second stroke Wednesday, Mar. 16, 2016 from the fairway of hole 17 in the 27-team Texarkana Chamber Classic Pro-Am tournament at Northridge Country Club.

In keeping with the theme from Tuesday's junior clinic at the Swing Thought Tour Texarkana Chamber Classic, youth was served during the pro-am tournament Wednesday at Northridge Country Club.

A pair of 16-year-old were members of the winning team of the pro-am, the top spot being decided by a scorecard playoff after two foursomes posted 16-under-par 55s.

The winning team of pro Kent Bulle, Ben Floyd, Ben LeGrand and Braxton Watkins-the latter two sophomores at Pleasant Grove-took the top spot over the team of pro Nick Rousey, Brad Davis, Mike Smith and Mark Brine. The victory was decided on No. 7, which the winning team birdied.

"Our pro, he plays on the Web.com Tour, and he played really well," Floyd said. "Braxton is the No. 1 player at Pleasant Grove High School, and he played very well. He's a solid player. Earlier this week he got medalist in a high school tournament with a 68. He's aspiring to be a pro on day."

"My stepson, Ben, made a few putts for us. We had a great time out there."

Four teams tied at 57 for third, and a scorecard playoff also decided third, fourth, fifth and sixth places in the event.

Third place went to the team of pro Yoshio Yamamotto, Phillip Mobley, Dennis Huffman and Robert Sanderson.

Fourth was pro Brandon Rogers, Trish Reed, Robert Irwin and Jeff Prieskorn, and fifth place was pro Taylor Dickinson, David Jones, Nick Bass and Richard Savins.

The team of pro Chip Deason, Scott Bruner, Collins Bruner and Derick Giles also shot 57 but finished sixth.

Watkins and LeGrand, who just finished his basketball season, along with Bulle and Floyd, made 16 birdies, scoring par on the two par-3s.

"I thought we would probably have a chance to win," Floyd said. "We had two par 3s we just didn't make our putts on; the rest of the day we were making all birdies. I really enjoyed watching them play such a good round."

The 57 pros take the course at Northridge Country Club today for the Swing Thought Tour National Pro Series Texarkana Chamber Classic. Opening tee times are at 8:30 a.m. and the event is open to the public to watch. The tournament runs through Sunday.
