Four States Fairgrounds to host High School Rodeo Association

Young riders, ropers and steer wranglers from four states will compete this Friday and Saturday in the Southwest Arkansas High School Rodeo Association's 14th annual rodeo finals at the Four State Fairgrounds.

Competitors aged 5-15 from Arkansas, Texas, Louisiana and Oklahoma will duel for $75,000 in prizes, buckles, saddles and scholarships

Friday's events start at 6 p.m. and Saturday's at
5 p.m.

The association has about 150 members from the Ark-La-Tex that compete in 15 rodeos starting in September and end with the finals in May. Competitors' ages range from 5-15.

The competition Friday and Saturday will feature the top 15 athletes in bull riding, chute dogging, goat tying, steer riding, barrel racing, breakaway, tie down, ribbon roping, pole bending and
team roping.

Admission is $5 at the gate. Children 5 and under get in free.
