Texarkana native Zack Fischer clawed back in the third round of the Texarkana Children Charities Open at Texarkana Country Club to tie Trent Whitekiller Friday.
Fischer birdied Nos. 3 and 7. He also carded birdies on Nos. 12, 16, 17, 18. Fischer finished 13-under 65 at TCC.
Whitekiller paced his lead on the third day. Whitekiller birdied on Nos. 1, 3, 5, before bogeying No. 6 and shooting a birdie on No. 7. He also birdied on Nos. 12, 13, bogeyed No. 14 and finished with a birdie on No. 17.
Fischer and Whitekiller are in a one stroke lead heading into the championship round on Saturday at Texarkana Country Club.
Former Texas High Tiger Garrett May tied for 10th as an amateur on the third day. May shot 4-under 68 at TCC on Friday.
Texarkana native Sean Romero is tied 28th. Romero shot 2-under 70 at TCC.
