Twins edge Bombers, 7-6

The Texarkana Twins surpassed the Brazos Valley Bombers, 7-6, after 10 innings Tuesday night at George Dobson Field in Spring Lake Park in Texarkana.

Four consecutive walks in the bottom of the final frame forced Caleb Lasseigne home to break the 6-6 knot.

Colton Kessler led the Twins with two singles and five RBI.

Both teams were runless for the first three innings. It was the Bombers that broke the ice in the fourth inning when Casey Danley hit a solo home run over the centerfield wall.

Cole Coker collected the Brazos next hit in the sixth, a single to right. Danley followed with with a second home run to score himself and Coker to make it 3-0.

Texarkana found its answer in the bottom of the sixth inning when Gunner Halter hit a single to right field that allowed Hunter Sutherland to score. Then, with two outs, Kessler hit a three RBI single to score Halter, Cam Hill, and Lasseigne giving the Twins a 4-3 lead.

In the seventh, the Bombers' Coker hit a sacrifice fly to score Alex Nielsom and knot the game at four.

Kessler gave the lead back to Texarkana in the eighth with a two RBI single that scored Halter and Hill.

The Bombers responded in the final inning of regulation with two runs to force extra innings. Coker gets credit for the first run with a sacrifice bunt to score Dylan Gardner and Danely earned the second off an RBI double to score Bennett Info.

In the final inning, the Twins gathered their three outs from the first three Bomber batters before switching sides and walking home.

The Twins face the Bombers again at 7:05 tonight at George Dobson Field in Spring Lake Park.
