AT STAKE: Class 2A regional quarterfinal championship.

LAST ROUND: Linden-Kildare defeated Kerens, 9-11, 8-3, 10-9, while Carlisle beat James Bowie, 8-5.

LINEUP: P-Trent Wert, C-Traccer Henry, 1B-Loy Taylor, 2B-Deuce Schuler, 3B-Nic Kunze, SS-Dalton Alford, LF-Caleb Cunningham, CF-Marty Johnson, RF-Jacob Owen.

COACH'S COMMENTS: Linden-Kildare's John Roberts-"If you're still playing at this time of year, you're pretty good. Carlisle is a little like us, in the fact they like to small ball. They play a similiar style to the way we play. We haven't played a ton of teams like that, so it's interesting how we'll respond. It's like playing a mirror image of yourself."

"I think my guys will respond well because they understand that style of game. It's what we do. They also underdstand the reason for the small ball, because you're trying to force the defense into making a mistake. It all boils down to us going out there and taking care of business."

NEXT ROUND: The winner advances to face either Groverton or Woden in the regional semifinals.
