TEXARKANA, Ark. - University of Arkansas head baseball coach Dave Van Horn will be the guest speaker at the annual Texarkana Razorback meeting on Sept. 10.

The meeting will take place at 6:30 p.m. at the Arkansas Convention Center in Texarkana, Ark. Local board members are Alan Brown, Josh Potter and Jake Potter.

The Razorback Club helps raise funds for the University of Arkansas' Athletic Foundation. Tickets are $25 for adults and $15 for children under 12. The event will be catered by Big Jake's BBQ.

The meeting will also have auctions.

"The proceeds from the ticket sales and auctions go to the University of Arkansas' Athletic Foundation," Brown said. "In addition, the meeting gives local Razorback fans a chance to see coaches upfront. It is exciting to have Coach Van Horn coming to Texarkana."

Scholarships, facilities and various programs from student-athletes are funded by the net profits from the club meetings.

Van Horn took over as head coach in 2003 and has led Arkansas to four World Series appearances. He is going into his 16th season with the Hogs and has guided Arkansas to 14 NCAA tournament berths.

Van Horn coached the Texarkana Bulldogs baseball team from 1989-1993 and finished with a record of 214-72 - a 74.8 % win percentage.
