Two runs in seventh inning helps secure 5-4 victory

It's always a good showing when the Texarkana American Legion programs face off.

The Texarkana Bulldogs defeated the Texarkana Razorbacks at Joe Blagg Field Tuesday night, 5-4.

The Bulldogs opened the contest jumping on the scoreboard after Chris Lyles scored on a Razorback infield error.

The Bulldogs added to their cushion after Zane Cox's sacrifice to center field, driving in Marzavin Riles for the 2-0 lead.

The Razorbacks answered back.

Gage Harris scored the Razorbacks first run of the contest on a Bulldogs throwing error after reaching base on a walk.

Kade Garmany started on the bump for the Razorbacks. Garmany gave up three runs, two hits and struck out four batters in four innings.

Lyles drove in Hunter Allen at the top of the second with his single to left-field to give the Bulldogs the two-run advantage, 3-1.

Lyles went 1 for 3 at the dish for the Bulldogs with a RBI, stolen base and scored a run.

Ryan Galvan started on the hill for the Bulldogs. Galvan went three innings, gave up two hits and struck out four batters.

Both squads had flawless defensive efforts in the middle innings.

Braden Larey tied the game for the Razorbacks in the bottom of the sixth with his double to left-field, driving in Dalton Burrell and Christian Vicknair.

Larey went 1 for 3 for the Razorbacks with a double and 2 RBI.

Cox broke the tie for the Bulldogs at the top of the seventh inning, driving in Bryan Moore from third with his single, giving the Bulldogs the lead, 4-3.

Cox finished 1 for 3 at the plate with 2 RBI and a stolen base for the Bulldogs.

TJ Krause drove in Cox for the Bulldogs, adding an insurance run on his single, 5-3.

Krause went 1 for 4 for the Bulldogs with a single and RBI.

The Razorbacks made a surge at the bottom of the seventh when Vicknair drove in Garmany to slice the Bulldogs lead to one run, 5-4.

Vicknair finished the game going 1 for 3 with a single, RBI and also scoring a run for the Razorbacks.
