Work begins today on I-30 near Hope: Highway official says work should last about three months

Work on Interstate 30 beginning today near Hope, Ark., calls for a three-month traffic shift, according to the Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department.
Pavement improvements start today for the westbound lanes, requiring the routing of westbound traffic onto one of the eastbound lanes, said Danny Straessle, public information officer for the highway department.
Westbound traffic will use median crossovers at each end of the construction zone, he said.
The traffic shift will be in place for about three months-weather permitting, Straessle said.
