Three parades scheduled for Saturday in Sevier County: Horatio's parade will start at 2 p.m.; Lockesburg at 4 p.m.; and De Queen at 6 p.m.

The Christmas spirit will be available Saturday in Sevier County, Ark., with Horatio, Lockesburg and De Queen hosting their annual Christmas parades.
The Horatio Christmas parade will start at 2 p.m. Saturday. Entries for the parade will be accepted until Thursday.
Floats will line up at the Horatio football field parking lot. For more information or to register, call James Dobbins at 870-582-1962.
Cash prizes will be awarded for first, second and third place in the float categories, which includes religious, business and organizations, Dobbins said. Gift certificates will be awarded to the golf cart, ATV and pet category winners.
The Horatio Museum Association will host a fundraising project in the J.L. Walker Fellowship Hall on Dec. 2 from noon until after the parade, according to Deb Neel.
The association will be selling soup and cornbread for $3 and fried pies for $1 each. Proceeds will benefit the museum, Neel said.
The Lockesburg Christmas Parade will be at 4 p.m. Saturday.
The parade will begin at the city park, and the float judging will be at city hall. The deadline to enter floats is Thursday. For more information, call 870-289-3261.
Float categories include: business and commercial, non-commercial, organization, religious and recreational.
The Bank of Lockesburg will be serving hot chocolate starting at 3:30 p.m., and Santa will visit with children at the bank after the parade.
The De Queen Christmas parade will be at 6 p.m. Saturday. To register, call the chamber at 870-584-3225.
