Two-vehicle wreck sends 5 to hospital, police say

IDABEL, Okla.-A two-vehicle accident Sunday afternoon in McCurtain County sent five people to the hospital.

The accident took place shortly after 1:30 p.m on Oklahoma State Highway 37, slightly more than two miles west of Idabel.

The accident occurred when an southbound 1992 Chevrolet pickup collided with a 2012 Lexus going eastbound on the highway. According to police reports, the pickup failed to stop at the intersection's stop sign.

The pickup's driver, Wesley L. Caldwell, 50, of Idabel, received head injuries and was taken to McCurtain County Memorial Hospital. There he remains in stable condition.

Caldwell's passenger, a 17-year-old female of Broken Bow, Okla., also received head injuries and was taken to McCurtain Memorial where she is listed in stable condition.

The Lexus' driver, Molly H. Ford, 75, and her husband, Travis H. Ford, 85, of Bagwell, Texas, sustained head and leg injuries. They were also taken to McCurtain Memorial where they remain in stable condition.

The couple's passenger, Pamela M King, 76, of Clarksville, Texas, received head and leg injuries and was taken to McCurtain Memorial. She is in stable condition.
