The University of Arkansas at Hope Community Education Department will host a two-hour Introductory Drone Education course this month.

The beginners' class will be from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Jan. 28 in Hempstead Hall. The cost is $30, and participants must provide their drones.

"In the Introductory Drone Education course, you will learn how to utilize a drone to the best of its ability, all FAA guidelines needed for personal drone use and a few tricks along the way," said Casey Curtis, UAHT communications coordinator.

The instructor for the course is the owner of Arkansas Unmanned Aerial Vehicle ArkUAV Business Services, Brad Fausett.

ArkUAV customizes and enhances drones with state-of-the-art video hardware, sensors and analytic tools for data-gathering, creating systems with "far-reaching potential for energy and utility services, agriculture and forestry management," Fausett said.
