An Ashdown, Ark., woman was killed in a two-vehicle accident Wednesday morning on U.S. Highway 71 north of Texarkana, Texas.

Texas Department of Public Safety troopers responded to a two-vehicle crash at 8:41 a.m. on U.S. 71, about 1.5 miles north of Texarkana.

The preliminary crash investigation indicates a 2009 Mack truck towing a trailer was traveling north in the right lane of U.S. 71 when it was struck from behind by a 2007 Honda 4-door passenger car.

The Honda driver, a 23-year-old woman from Ashdown, was pronounced dead on scene by Bowie County, Texas, Justice of the Peace Nancy Talley.

The tractor-trailer driver, Glenn Paul Fuller, 34, and passenger, Doug Cochran, both of Texarkana, Texas, were not injured.

The investigation is ongoing. No additional information is available at this time, DPS spokeswoman Sgt. Sylvia Jennings said.
