Hope-Hempstead County Chamber of Commerce names new director

Hope-Hempstead County Chamber of Commerce has announced Beckie Moore as its new executive director. Her first day with the chamber will be Aug. 7.

"We are very pleased to announce this selection," said Mitch Bobo, president of the Hope-Hempstead County Board of Directors. "Beckie will a great asset to our region's nonprofit and for-profit community. She has served nonprofits at all program, fundraising, executive and leadership levels and has a range of chamber of commerce experience that will serve us well."

The Hope native's resume includes more than 20 years of executive leadership in the nonprofit sector. She holds certifications in strategic planning, board and staff development, grant writing, fund development and advocacy training. Moore directed the downtown business revitalization efforts in El Dorado, Ark., in early 2000. In Hope, she has served as a teacher and as director of the Clinton Birthplace Foundation.

"I look forward to returning to Hope and serving in this capacity," Moore said. "I am thankful for the opportunity to work alongside those in Hope and Hempstead County who are ready to move the chamber's mission forward and see significant development in the cultural, economic and political environments. I am excited to work with the chamber Board of Directors as we provide the 'setting' to help our members prosper and succeed through a proactive working partnership with all levels of government and community organizations to achieve a healthy local economy and quality of life."

The chamber is a 501(c)(6) nonprofit organization.
