Area heat advisory to end this evening

A heat advisory for most of Southwest Arkansas and Northeast Texas remains in effect until 7 p.m. today.
Hot and humid conditions will continue, with afternoon temperatures climbing into the mid-90s. The heat index will range from 105 to 109 degrees, according to the National Weather Service in Shreveport, La.
Anyone who works or spends time outside should take precautions against heat-releated illnesses, such as heat exhaustion and heat stroke, the weather service warns. The service recommends rescheduling strenuous activities to the early morning or evening, wearing lightweight, loose-fitting clothing and drinking plenty of water.
Daytime high temperatures are expected to decrease to about 91 degrees on Sunday, with a 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms.
