A $1.4 million repaving project has started on U.S. Highway 71 from the Red River to 3.9 miles south, said Marcus E. Sandifer, public information officer for the Texas Department of Transportation.
The project was awarded to R.K. Hall of Paris, Texas with a bid price of $1.4 million. In addition repaving the traffic lanes, repairs will be made to bridge rails and guardrails, he said.
"It's a routine resurfacing job on the northbound lanes from the Red River to 3.9 miles south. The project is expected to take three months to complete," Sandifer said.
