Bowie County declares April as Child Abuse Prevention Month

NEW BOSTON, Texas-The Bowie County Commissioners Court met Monday to declare April as Child Abuse Prevention Month.
Nearly 200,000 children in Texas are reported as either abused or neglected every year, according to Bowie County documents.
Following their declaration, the court thanked Bowie County resident Sue Anderson for her continuous efforts in offering child abuse prevention services.
In other business, Bowie County Auditor William Tye told commissioners there weren't any budget adjustments or line item transfers necessary before going into next month.
