Erosion of Sulphur River Basin to be the focus of FUSE session

Dr. Mike Buttram, chemistry professor at Texarkana College, will discuss erosion and sedimentation in the Sulphur River Basin during the November meeting of Friends United for a Safe Environment.

The meeting will be at 6 p.m. Tuesday in the Nelson Room at Texarkana Public Library, 600 W. Third St., Texarkana, Texas.

Buttram, the water quality and sediment consultant for the Sulphur River Basin Authority, has studied the basin since 1999 while working with the Clean Rivers Program.

He holds a doctorate in chemistry from the University of Louisville and earned bachelor's and master's degrees from East Texas State University.

The meeting is open to the public.
