Daingerfield's Halloween Funfest will be held Friday, Oct. 20 and Saturday, Oct. 21 at Daingerfield State Park, 455 Park Rd. 17.
The event starts at 6:30 p.m. Friday with a dog costume contest. Winners will be announced at 7 p.m.
A kids costume contest will be 6 p.m. Saturday. Judging will be split into three age groups: 3 and under, 4 through 7 and 8 through 12. Winners will be announced at 7 p.m.
While judging is underway both nights, "Dracula" will host the educational program, "Creatures of the Night-BATS."
On both nights, the CTET Dance Group will open the carnival games and the haunted trail with a "Processional of the Undead." The carnival games will be from 7 to 10 p.m and the haunted trail will be open from 7 to 10:30 p.m., beginning at the pavilion.
The dance group will also perform the "Tell of the Soul" at 8 p.m. each night.
Jack-o-lanterns for the pumpkin carving contest must be turned in between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Friday at the park's gift shop. Winners will be announced 7 p.m. Saturday.
The park will close at 11 p.m. both nights.
Entrance fees will be $4 for adults and children 12 and under are free. Admittance for seniors 65 and older will be $2 with a Bluebonnet Pass.
