Annual Veterans Day Tribute set for Nov. 8 at SAU

Southern Arkansas University will hold its annual Veterans Day tribute from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. Nov. 8 in the Reynolds Center's Grand Hall on campus in Magnolia.

SAU President Dr. Trey Berry is scheduled to speak, and colors will be posted and retired by the 1-153 Infantry Battalion Color Guard from Hope, Ark.

Student Keely Stofer will play the National Anthem on the Oboe.

Band student Devin Sipes will perform taps, and the SAU Brass Quintet will perform the "Armed Forces Salute." The Brass Quintet includes Sipes and Sarah Fincher on trumpet, Renee Jorgensen on horn, Raechel Settlemoir playing trombone and Cyrus Tucker playing tuba.

University singing and dancing troupe Encore and soloist Dalicia Torrence, a choir member at SAU, will perform, as well.

The SAU president's ambassadors will provide shuttle services from the parking area as needed. A lunch reception will follow the program.
