McCurtain County woman slain; ex-beau charged with murder

A McCurtain, County, Okla., woman was fatally shot Monday night, and her ex-boyfriend has been charged with first-degree murder, authorities say.

Tamera Moore, 38, of Valliant, Okla., was found dead of an apparent gunshot wound at 104 S. Gardner St. by officers investigating a report of a prowler.

Moore's ex-boyfriend, Geoffrey Tyrone Briley, 42, was inside the home when officers arrived.

The Valliant Police Department requested assistance from the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation. After interviews by OSBI, Briley was arrested and booked into the McCurtain County Jail in Idabel.

His first court appearance is pending.
