The University of Arkansas at Hope-Texarkana Iron Horse Shooting Team received a $3,629 grant from the NRA Foundation to pay registration fees for the state and national championship shoots in spring 2018.

"Without the funding provided by the NRA, we would not be able to offer this opportunity to our students," said Jill Bobo, UAHT Foundation executive director.

The team competes each year in the state shoot competition in Tillar, Ark., and the national shoot competition in San Antonio.

"We are very excited to be able to help our local college's shooting team and pleased that the NRA is investing in our community," said Cyril Stewart, vice chairman of the Piney Woods Friends of the NRA Chapter AR28.
