Hempstead County man accused of stabbing nephew

BLEVINS, Ark.-A man is accused of stabbing his nephew numerous times, according to the Hempstead County Sheriff's Office.

Albert Jones was arrested on a first-degree domestic battery charge and is awaiting his first court appearance.

While patrolling the area of Oak Street about 5 p.m. Saturday, Deputy Jim Bush was flagged down by a white man later identified as Travis Jones, according to a press release from the sheriff's office.

Travis Jones appeared to have blood running down his right arm.

Travis Jones told the deputy that his uncle, Albert Jones, reportedly stabbed him. Bush saw a stab wound that appeared to go downward into Travis Jones' chest near his collarbone, according to the press release.

Bush called for Pafford EMS to respond. Travis Jones was taken to CHRISTUS St. Michael in Texarkana for treatment.

Bush made contact with Albert Jones and took him into custody at the Hempstead County Detention Center without incident.
