Fundraiser benefiting programs for children slated for March 1

The University of Arkansas at Hope and Texarkana will hold the 12th annual Beads, Bags, and Bangles Kids' College fundraiser from 6 to 9 p.m. March 1 at Hope Municipal Airport in Hope, Ark. This year's theme is "The Bicentennial Bash," in celebration of Hempstead County's 200-year anniversary.

This year's events will include casino games, live music, a special tasting event, exclusive shopping, heavy hors d'oeuvres, a live auction and more.

Proceeds will be used for scholarships and supplies to benefit the 2018 Kids' College and Camp Save-A-Life programs, designed for students who will be in first through eighth grades. In 2017, the programs served more than 250 children from Hope, Texarkana and surrounding communities.

Tickets are $35. For more information or to purchase tickets, call Jill Bobo, executive director of the UA Hope-Texarkana Foundation, at 870-722-8516.
