Two-vehicle accident kills man and child

Two Sevier County, Ark., residents were killed Friday night in a two-vehicle accident on U.S. Highway 71 South near Wilton, Ark.

About 10 p.m. Friday, a 1998 GMC truck was traveling south on U.S. 71 and crossed the center line, colliding head-on with a northbound 2011 Ford Focus.

The driver of the truck, 34-year-old Jesus Fraier of De Queen, was pronounced dead at the scene by Little River County Coroner Roddy Smith. Seven individuals were taken to area hospitals, where a second victim, a child, died from injuries.

Arkansas State Police Trooper Ernesto Echevarria is the investigating officer. The wreck remains under investigation.
