The National Weather Service in Shreveport, La., has issued a flash flood warning until 2:30 p.m. for a large portion of the Texarkana region.
NWS expects flash flooding caused by heavy rainfall to begin soon and advises drivers to "turn around, don't drown" when encountering standing water in a roadway.
Affected areas include Hempstead County, southeastern Sevier County, Lafayette County, southeastern Howard County, Nevada County, southeastern Little River County, Miller County and western Columbia County in Arkansas; northern Webster Parish, northwestern Caddo Parish and north central Bossier Parish in Louisiana; and east central Bowie County and northeastern Cass County in Texas.
