Bowie County officials to meet today

NEW BOSTON, Texas-Bowie County commissioners will meet at 9 a.m. today to consider allowing the county to continue getting state grant funds to extend its participation in the Statewide Automated Victim Notification Services program.

The county, which started using the program in 2013, will receive just under $17,000 in grant fund reimbursements for payments to extend these services to Aug. 31, 1919. The services are currently maintained by a Kentucky-based firm known as Appriss.

In other business, commissioners will consider letting the county participate in the state's 2018-2019 Truancy Prevention and Intervention grant program as well as the state's 2018 Homeland Security grant program.
