Atlanta, Texas, man dies in crash

A 54-year-old Atlanta, Texas, man died in an early morning wreck Thursday, according to an official.

James Richard Moore was pronounced dead just after 6 a.m. at a crash on Farm to Market Road 3129 about 2 miles north of Bloomburg, Texas, according to a press release from Sgt. Sylvia Jennings, Texas Department of Public Safety spokeswoman.

Moore was driving a 1998 Chevrolet pickup traveling north on FM 3129 that struck a semi-trailer being towed by a 2014 Volvo truck-tractor attempting to back into County Road 3886 to turn around on FM 3129, according to Jennings.

Moore was pronounced dead by Justice of the Peace Micki Henderson.

The driver of the truck-tractor/semi-trailer, Anthony Tyrone Harrison, 33, of Attapulgus, Ga., did not suffer any injuries.
