Asdown woman faces theft trial

A trial date of March 12 has been scheduled for Kiley Huddleston, 32, of Ashdown, Ark., who is charged with theft of property for allegedly making a total of $25,000 in fraudulent purchases from an Ashdown Parent Teacher Organization debit card.

The trial date is scheduled for the Little River County Circuit Court.

Huddleston has been charged with theft of property for allegedly making $25,000 worth of fraudulent purchases by using a debit card from an Ashdown Parent Teacher Organization, according to the arrest affidavit filed in the Little River County Circuit Court.

Between April 2017 and November 2017 the PTO officers reported the PTO debit card was used for the fraudulent charges on a PTO debit card issued to Kiley Huddleston.

The PTO officers discovered the alleged theft when the bank account balance was questioned by other officers of the PTO, and wanted a review of the bank account balance for the PTO.

The PTO officers contacted Ashdown Police Chief Boyd Kennemore who opened an investigation.

On Nov. 1, 2017 Huddleston was identified on video at Walmart receiving cash back from the PTO debit card and placing it into her bag.

On Nov. 2 Huddleston attempted to use the debit card again inside Walmart, according to the affidavit.

Circuit Court Judge Charles Yeargan set Huddleston's bail at $7,500 and she is currently free on bond.

A pretrial hearing is scheduled for Feb. 27 and a trial date has been set for March 12.

If found guilty, Huddleston faces a potential sentence of five to 20 years in prison and a maximum fine of $15,000.

She is represented by Ashdown attorney Mickey Buchanan.
