Arkansas State Police Troop G will have three new troopers soon from a class of 38 recruits who graduated from the ASP Training Academy on Thursday in Little Rock.

The graduates, all of whom will start their careers in the Highway Patrol Division, reported for training Feb. 25. They completed 1,000 hours of classroom and practical training over the last 21 weeks, according to a press release from ASP.

Maj. Gen. Mark H. Berry, adjutant general of the Arkansas National Guard, was the keynote speaker addressing the graduates and assisted Col. Bill Bryant, ASP director, in presenting the new troopers their certification and commission credentials. Arkansas Supreme Court Chief Justice John Dan Kemp administered the Oath of State Trooper Commission.

Other officials present for the ceremony included representatives of the ASP Commission, department deputy directors, and division, troop and company commanders assigned across the department.

Graduates assigned to Troop G are:

Jackson Dorman, 24, who will be assigned to Nevada County. He is a graduate of Harrison High School and Arkansas Tech University. Trooper Dorman served as recruit class leader and placed third in the class in physical fitness.

Antonio May, 30, will be assigned to Hempstead County. He is a graduate of Ashdown High School and Utah State University.

Lucas Talley, 28, will be assigned to Lafayette County. He is a graduate of Lafayette County High School and Southern Arkansas University.

Upon reporting for duty at troop headquarters, the new troopers will be placed with certified departmental field training officers. They will work in tandem with their respective FTOs for a transitional period before being released to their assignments.
