Woman dies in early morning crash near New Boston

An 18-year-old woman from Naples, Texas, died in a single-vehicle crash early Monday, according to a Texas Department of Public Safety official.

Myranda Diana Finley was driving a 2005 Nissan Altima westbound on Farm to Market Road 1840 about one mile west of New Boston, said Sylvia Jennings, DPS spokeswoman.

According to the preliminary investigation, the vehicle struck a concrete culvert after leaving the roadway on the right side, went airborne and struck a tree, Jennings said.

Troopers responded to the crash scene about 12:12 a.m. Monday.

Finley was pronounced dead at the scene by Justice of the Peace Curtis Cole.
