Lafayette man, 26, killed in accident Thursday on I-30

A Louisiana man was killed Thursday. May 17, 2018, in a vehicle accident on Interstate 30 in Hempstead County.

Matthew Pusateri, 26, of Lafayette, La., was driving a 2006 Toyota Tundra westbound on Interstate 30 at the 20 mile marker when he collided with the trailer of a 2017 freight liner, according to an Arkansas State Police report.

The freight liner had stopped in the road because of traffic backed up in a construction zone. The accident happened about 2 p.m. Thursday. Traffic on I-30 was rerouted to U.S. Highway 67 for several hours after the accident.
