Miller County voters to decide 7 local races

Polls open 7:30 a.m. Tuesday

Miller County's voters will decide several statewide and local contested races in Tuesday's primary.

Locally, the positions of judge, tax collector, tax assessor, sheriff, District 2 justice of the peace, District 9 justice of the peace and District 11 constable each have two people from the same political party seeking the office.

One of the races, District 2 justice of the peace, has a contested Democratic race, while the other six races have Republicans squaring off for the seat.

Polls are open 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Early voting continues from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. today.

As of Friday, 1,570 voters had voted early, said Linda Crawford, Miller County Election Commission coordinator. A total of 26,588 Miller County residents have registered to vote.

Ballot counting will begin after polls close Tuesday in the second-floor courtroom of Miller County Courthouse.
