The Hempstead County Historical Society will provide a bus tour at 2 p.m. Nov. 18 to De Roane and Bodcaw townships and the communities of Hope and Patmos.
"The tour will visit the southeastern section of current Hempstead County and explore its history," spokesperson Josh Williams said. "The Hempstead County Historical Society will be providing a series of bus tours each month to each of the different townships of Hempstead County as part of the celebration of the bicentennial of Hempstead County."
The bus will leave at 2 p.m. from Hope at the parking lot across from BancorpSouth at Third and Elm streets. The tour will last a little over two hours. Admission for the tour is $10 per person and will go to support the Historical Society. Reservations are required.
"The Historical Society seeks to bring awareness to the rich heritage and history of Hempstead County," Williams said. "Come and share your history with us."
