Hempstead County was one of the original five counties formed in Arkansas on Dec. 15, 1818.
This year marks the 200th birthday of the formation of the county, and the Hempstead County Bicentennial Committee is planning a county celebration on Saturday, Dec. 15.
A parade is planned for 1 p.m. and r all communities of Hempstead County and organizations are asked to enter floats or vehicles into the event. To register and enter the parade, contact Ben Brazzel at [email protected].
