NEW BOSTON, Texas-Bowie County residents will have three local elections to participate in on the Nov. 6 ballot.
The issues to decide will involve voter approval of two proposed new Emergency Service Districts for rural firefighters and the justice of the peace, Precinct 1, Place 2 position.
Simms, Texas-area residents will get a chance to vote for the county's proposed new Fifth Emergency Service District while DeKalb, Texas-area residents will get a chance to vote for the a Sixth Emergency Service District. If approved, both districts will have taxing authority.
Voters will also choose the new JP for Precinct 1, Place 2. Todd Fore, a Republican and Jimmy Wesson, a Democrat, are competing for the position.
