A 19-year-old Wickes, Ark., woman died and four other people were injured early Sunday when an SUV overturned several times in Howard County.
The victim was identified as Rachel Rada Mae Norman, 19, of Wickes, according to a preliminary fatality report from the Arkansas State Police.
The accident happened at 4:43 a.m. Sunday on Arkansas Highway 84, north of Umpire, Ark.
Norman was one of four passengers in a 2019 Chevrolet Traverse driven by Chance Austen Manasco, 21, of Cove, Ark., according to the report. The vehicle was westbound when it ran off the side of the road then over-corrected to the left, crossed both lanes of traffic and overturned several times before coming to rest, according to the report.
Norman was pronounced dead at the scene.
The injured were taken to Mena Regional Health System and Arkansas Children's Hospital.
