Hickory Hill Bluegrass Band, organized in Avinger, Texas, in 1979, played recently in their 40th year of performing at Music City Texas Theater in Linden, Texas. They are, from left, Milo Deering of Dallas, Ronny Singley of Whitehouse, Texas, Matt Early and father John Early of Avinger, Don Eaves of Overton, Texas, and Richard Bowden of Linden. Hickory Hill was the name of the community before it became Avinger. The group has recorded 10 CD albums.
