De QUEEN, Ark. - staff

Her husband Mirza Baig, 35, and one of the couple's young daughters were killed Saturday afternoon on Arkansas state Highway 41 south of De Queen, according to an Arkansas State Police report. Another young daughter was injured in the accident.

"We loved our teacher and her daughters. We are working closely with the family to help support recovery for the daughter who was injured. We will spend our days this week and beyond helping our students and staff to cope with this tragedy, " McLeod Superintendent Cathy May wrote on the district's Facebook page.

"McLeod ISD is a family. Our family is hurting and we are asking for your prayers and support as we face the next few weeks. The well-being of our students and staff is our priority. Please know we love your students and are working hard to be what we need to be for each and every one," May's post reads.

McLeod is about 15 miles southeast of Atlanta, Texas, in Cass County.

Local ministers and counselors are available to anyone in the school community, May said.

"These ministers and counselors have been assigned to the elementary and middle schools, but will remain in place for as long as needed and will offer their support to any of the district's students and staff members," the Facebook post said.

Donations for the family will be accepted at the McLeod administration building.

Legacy Academy also expressed the loss of the family on its Facebook Page.

"The entire Legacy Academy family is heartbroken by the tragic death of Jessica Baig, her husband, and sweet (daughter) Mrs. Baig devoted the last five years to the students at Legacy. She was loved by students and her co-workers alike. Her kindness toward others knew no bounds," the post said.

The Baig family, all residents of Horatio, Ark., were killed about 4:20 p.m. when a northbound 2016 Dodge Ram crossed the roadway's center line and struck their southbound 2013 Buick Enclave head on, forcing it to flip several times before it came to a final resting place upright along Arkansas State Highway 41.

Horatio is about 53 miles northwest of Texarkana.

A second female child in the Baig vehicle was injured and taken to Arkansas Children's Hospital in Little Rock.

The Dodge Ram's driver, Justin Williams, of Taylor, Texas, was taken to Wadley Regional Medical Center in Texarkana, Texas.
