BROKEN BOW, Okla. - A man died Monday after drowning in Broken Bow Lake at Beavers Bend State Park.
Chennareddy Kedarnadn, 21, of India, died after he struggled to stay above the water, according to the Oklahoma State Police. Kedarnadn was about 80 feet from shore when he went under about 2:35 p.m. Monday and never resurfaced, according to police.
The water was about 11 feet deep when he went under. Kedarnadn was not wearing a flotation device at the time, according to OSP. Numerous local fire departments responded to the incident.
