Chamber to participate in economic summit today

Texarkana Chamber of Commerce officials will be participating in a Regional Economic Summit from 1:45 p.m. to 5 p.m. today at the Texarkana, Texas, Convention Center, 4610 Cowhorn Creek Road.
Florida economist William H. Fruth will be the featured guest speaker.
Fruth, who has analyzed more than 800 local economies across the nation and delivered presentations in 39 states, will explain and summarize what is driving the region's economy and what communities need to do to build a strong, local economy.
"Economic development isn't about one person, it's about a regional community," Mike Malone, Texarkana Chamber of Commerce president and chief executive officer, said in a prepared statement. "We will explore the opportunities and we, as a community, will discuss what we need to do to help us grow, expand and improve the standard of living for all of our residents."
