David McCright, left, and Julia Hornok rehearse for the upcoming Silvermoon Childrens Theatre performance of Alice in Wonderland Wednesday, April 27, 2016 at Silvermoon on Broad.

The Silvermoon Children's Theatre will present "Alice in Wonderland" at The Silvermoon on Broad, 217 W. Broad St., in downtown Texarkana at 7:30 p.m. today, 5:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and at 2 p.m. on Sunday.

Based on Lewis Carrol's classic book, the play tells about a young girl who, wishing to grow up, follows a white rabbit to Wonderland, where she finds adventure.

"She meets all sorts of curious characters, finds she can change sizes and learns to play croquet with a live flamingo, all while keeping her head safe from the Queen of Hearts," said Susannah Morriss Linnett, who directs the play. "It's madness and fun. Don't be late for the very important date."

Three young actresses will play Alice. The curious characters from the play include the Caterpillar, March Hare, Cheshire Cat, Duchess, Tweedledum and Tweedledee, Mock Turtle, Walrus, Gryphon, Knave of Hearts and plenty more.

Tickets are $10. You can purchase them online at silvermoonkids.com. If they are still available, you can purchase them at the door. For more information, call 903-278-9077.
